My 2 year old microwave is having problems.  It fogged up the inside and the door now has two large bubbles in the plastic.  It also smells like something burning if run for more than a minute or so.  What is the problem?  GE has discontinued this model which sux cause we remodeled 2 years ago and all of our appliances match.  The current GE microwaves all have very bad reviews.  Is this microwave repairable and at what cost?  It still heats but my wife is very worried that the waves are coming thru the door and is scared to run it.

Can anyone recommend a new stainless microwave with trim kit?

Ugh, you need the stirrer and magnetron re-work kit. Big rash of these a few years ago.

Thanks for the reply.  If I get it fixed how do I get rid of the bubble in the door?

I thought you were going to say that.  A new microwave of same quality is $250 I am sure the parts will cost atleast half that much.  Sounds like it is time for a new one.

Now can someone recommend a new stainless 1.8 + cf with trim kit?

Sorry for the mistype.  It is a JE2160SF.

Door assembly is $90 and not in stock.  The repair kit is $141.50 so with shipping I would be around $250.  And I can't be certain that this will fix the problem.  We also need a new glass turntable for the inside.  I can buy a new one for the same price.

Pretty much decided I am getting a new one but just cant decide which one.

Any help would be appreciated.  I would easily go with another GE but the ones I have looked at all get terrible reviews on Consumer Reports, Home Depot and Amazon.

Just want to find a reliable stainless microwave with trim kit in a 1.8 + cf size.  Having a hell of a time finding anyone at the big stores (home depot and lowes) who know what they are selling.
