DD603 about 4-5 yrs old in second abode.  The first suggestion of a problem was when the dishwasher started with the sudden - in the middle of the night - beeping and the top draw had filled with some water.  I diagnosed the F1 Fault. I determined that just the top drawer was having a fault so continued to use the lower one.  Then the bottom one went F1 - I'm thinking in simpathy!.

So far I recognised that there is a flooding problem and have found that the lower drawer left actuating motor had seized so the left side of the bottom lid was not closing properly.  I freed up the motor - water ingress was the problem( probably from the top drawer problem).  But on putting the bottom lid etc back on now find that the right hand side yoke now sticks and I am trying to find out what I have done there as it was fine to start with!  Are there any tricks or hints for replacing yokes so that they don't stick?

I have yet to diagnose the upper drawer fully.

Can't help wth the sticky yoke but in the meantime do you have a service manual?Really helpful, particularly how to run diagnostics etc.. may help  with top drawer as well. For manual go to forum " service manual requests" on this site.

F1 is a flood fault code most likely from the lid not closing on the drawer. Those lid actuators are a common troublemaker in these units. Replace both as a set. Easy job.

Happy with the idea of replacing the lid actuator but is there any tricks for putting the yokes back in so that they do not stick?

Not sure what you mean-- the yokes are moved by the motors, so if the yokes are sticking, then look to the motor.

Or are you saying that the yokes are catching on something? Properly installed, the yokes shouldn't catch on anything.

No tricks, they just snap in place.

The righthand yoke worked perfectly when I took it out but now gets stuck in the rails. My only thought it that i have somehow moved the actuator so that it in no longer dead centre. But I tried moving it and it didn't budge.

Look carefully at the RH yoke, how it's mounted on the actuator, and compare with the LH yoke. My guess is that the yoke is not snapped in place correctly. Maybe post pics of both yokes here so we can feast our bloodshot squinties upon 'em.

This may help..   Found this some time ago but dont know where we can get technical bulletins..

If there is a doubt that both motors are working you could disconnect lid motors one at a time and test by running diagnostics.

MARKETS: NZ, AU, ROW, US, GB, EU, TW, JP MODELS: DD / DS 603 ACTION: Some ASCs are experiencing problems fitting the new lid actuators (with the cover and boot, referred to in technical bulletin DW043) to older products. This is probably because older slides had a lug in the cut-out that the lid actuator fits through. Care must be taken not to damage the rubber boot on the lid actuator when fitting it to older products. All products fitted with new lid actuators in the factory have slide brackets with the new detail

Well, the kids are at kindy and hubby is at work and I finally have time to get back to the DD.
I took off the offending yoke and removed the Padding/sound deadening. Refitted the yoke and ran in test mode. Both sides appeared to be working fine.

I then refitted the padding and lid only to find that with the additional load the motor seemed to struggle to close properly or quickly. certainly the right side was taking longer that the left.

Adjusted the screw pin so that both sides were the same height - made little difference. Gave both a wiggle and noted that there was some lack in the winding mechanisim on the right side but that the left side had none. So took the assemply apart again and examined the actuator - there did not seem to be any thing wrong with it.

I looked for a diagram of the actuator assembly in manual but it just shows a complete unit so don't know if there is a bit missing which is causing slack/slop i.e. washer.

Replaced both actuator motors this evening and so far the bottom drawer seems to be functioning okay.  :)

I will leave the machine plugged in overnight and see if it develops the beep.  Otherwise I shall move on to the top drawer.  Will keep you posted.

Well I have had a short stay in hospital and not a spare moment upon return, but finally I have had a chance to have a look at the top drawer. I had my husband pick up new lid actuators and at the same time the chap sold him the new wiring harnesses for both drawers.

So I replace the top drawer actuators and wiring support harness. I have run the fast test and two fast cycles with no adverse effects thus far. My next step is to run a longer cycle and then both drawers at the same time. My fingers are crossed.:woot:

Aaarrgh!. Just when I thought I had everything fixed. Now the bottom drawer is making some extraordinary noises which I think comes from under the front panel. I have been too sick to have a look yet and have just not used it. Any possible suggestions - it sounds like a rattle when the water goes on.
