We've cleaned all the holes on the range cap.  The starter sparks visibly well.  There is no gas sound or smell from this 1 of 5 burners.  What could be stopping the gas from getting to the burner - from low to high settings?

Thanks for your help

Thanks for asking.  The non-working burner is the largest burner and is in the center of the back row of 3 burners.  It's the X in the diagram below:

O X O
O O c

O = working burner
X = non-working, no gas sound
c = control panel for the stove

Cannot find the service manual for this model......you will need to get into the innerds of this unit...remove the grates, then the burner caps, remove the hex tube holding down the burner base, then remove the top............. There should be the wire schematic  under the top ............the  X position is #2 in the service manual......Extra-low burner...... the other Extra-low burner is towards the front, position #5      One test is to switch the  pair of wires  on the fuel solenoids.......  the other test is to switch the connectors on the potentiometers, ( the small circuit boards on the  knob shafts ) .....  Most of the time it is the potentiometer but once in a while it will be the solenoid...... The last unit I worked on ( a cooktop ) the potentiometer was N.L.A.  you got a kit...  solenoid and a new pot.....  Keep us posted............

Fixed - by a replaced potentiameter - simmer control replacement.
Now, the wife's happy.

Thanks!
