I ran the Automatic Function Test on this machine and it indicated a fault: it was the turbidity sensor failed to detect clean water. I removed the sensor because the Samurai told me to check to see if it was all gunked up because the sensor works by beaming light through the water. The sensor I pulled out seemed clean, so I figured something internally went wrong with it. I bought a new sensor, and installed it. Now the machine runs for about 20 minutes of the heavy wash cycle and then trips the GFCI outlet that the machine is wired from ( I know that it should not be wired this way, but I didn't wire this house and it ran fine for years). If you reset the GFCI it will run another 20 minutes or so, then trip again. I checked to see if I could have installed the sensor incorrectly but it only goes in one way, same with the wiring harness to it. Any help is appreciated.

Any stray water that got on the wiring or electronics could cause this.

everything was dry when I installed it, what should I do?

Run another diagnostic test and see at what point of the test (if any) it blows the breaker. GFI's get weak as well and it is not uncommon to have to replace one.
