Can you tell me how to test this to find out if it is bad? or good?

A bad evaporator thermistor will stop a GSS from defrosting. A good evaporator thermistor with a tiny amount water and ice inside it will also stop a GSS from defrosting. Can you tell me how to test this to find out if it is bad? or good?
