Sorry to hear that. Actually, all I did was unplug the connection running to the door and left it like that for a few days. Plugged it in and haven't had the problem since then. I dont know if it is sticky switch/bad circuit board/something else, but I can't say that I pinpointed the problem. I did cut the power to the fridge via the circuit breaker and flipped it back on again but that did not help. The only thing that worked was to unplug the harness running to the freezer door for a few days ( 2 or 3) and then plug it back in. Now maybe it only needed to be unplugged for a few minutes, but I didn't want to take any chances. Found out GE was going to charge me $75 to just come look at a $7K fridge, I said a few "nice things", hung up, plugged it back in , and haven't had a problem since.
