I have a 48" built-in GE Monogram fridge with ice/water dispenser (touchpad type control panel) in the freezer door.  Today as we were sitting in the kitchen, our ice dispenser came on all on it's own and started spitting ice all over the floor.  My wife hit the water button, trying to turn off the ice, and then we had water spraying on the floor instead of ice.  BTW, the arm that you depress to get ice/water to dispense under normal conditions was not depressed.

We were able to stop the flood by opening the freezer door.  But as soon as the door shut, the water (or ice, whichever was selected) would start dispensing again.  We got it to finally stop by pushing the "control lock" button on the touchpad control panel.  This keeps it turned off even with the freezer door shut.

I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so I think with a diagnosis I can get it fixed.  Thanks,

Tom
