This forum was down because the company that hosts it, Dreamhost, is incompetent and nightmarish to deal with. I sent in a trouble ticket saying that the site is down. A day and half later, they wake up and email me back telling me it's fine when, in fact, it's still down.
So, I'm beginning the arduous task of migrating the forum in toto, database and all, from NightmareHost to another company. Take the company who hosts Fixitnow.com, for example. On the rare occasion when something goes wrong, I submit a trouble ticket and I never, ever have to wait more than 10 minutes for a reply. They're awesome! What am I doing and ScreamHost?
