We have an Amana LW4202W washer. It leaks from under the inner tub only during the spin cycle. It kind of showers down from a couple of places. We've had the washer for about 13 years. What might be going on?

You mean it's leaking from the outer tub, right above the transmission? If so, then... Sounds like another triple lip seal and tub bearing replacement job: http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=154&N=1109145 Some help on doing this repair here. < re-linked Last edited on Mon Jun 29th, 2009 09:55 pm by RegUS_PatOff ____________________ Links: Parts | FAQs | Store | Beer | Home |

Yes, that's right, above the transmission.

I've managed to get the front panel and top off and the agitator out. I've taken off the four screws. But there was a hub that the agitator fit onto that I don't know how to get off. Does it pull off or screw off? If it screws off, I think a special tool is needed?

that is the airdome,is secured by a 7/16 in bolt down through the centre, theory is that it pulls off- sometimes can be pried off, more often than not, gets split with a chisel and comes off in peices.don't need it anyway as a new one is supplied in a hub/seal kit, and if you are installing a new transmission- which is an atlantis transmission conversion kit, that airdome is not used at all on the new style transmission.- you are in for a real treat of patience and labor- not to mention expense. are you sure this machine is worthy of such grief??
