We bought a GE washer second hand two years in very good condition. I'm not fully aware of the age, but I would guess about a year old. Last week it stated making a funny noise and it seems to not be "agitating" properly. Full spin works fine, it's just making a very odd clicking before the spin cycle. Here is a video, i'm just running the spin cycle.

Towards the end of the video I am opening and closing the lid to demonstrate how the motor seems to have no problems. I'm guessing that it is having a problem reversing the direction of the motor, a faulty relay?

Full model number of the unit is WBSE3120B1WW and the details of the motor are;

5KH61KW2516HS
1/2 HP, 115v, 1725/1140 RPM
60hz 9.2/7.3 amps

Anyone able to offer some simple diagnostic steps to finding out what is wrong and maybe help me locate new parts?

the problem is the motor. the new part comes with a wiring harness complete with some other "stuff". you'll have to do some wire cutting in order to splice in the new wiring harness. kit comes with instructions. chances are if you select a different spin speed that the motor won't exhibit that problem. your model# is incomplete. look on the topedge of the control panel slightly behind it to see the sticker with the info. i think there are 2 different kits so proper model # is important. chances are the part is going to cost you more than what you paid for the washer.

Full model number, as I detailed in my first post, is WBSE3120B1WW. Is there more to the model number? On the sticker on the back the only other number was a serial number.

Any links to where I can look at the kits I should buy to repair? I want to look at the costs and figure out how easily I can do the work. I'm pretty good with repairing things.
