I've got a MDG8600AWW that spins but doesn't heat.

I've checked out an identical thread here: Maytag Dryer MDG8600AWW but there is some magic that happens to fix the problem ;) that isn't shared.  It maybe that the right parts were replaced, but there were clues not present in my scenario.

I've gotten down to the components of the dryer with a voltmeter and found that each component is indeed getting power (except the secondary coil).  I also did a continuity check on each component and they all check out.

When the dryer starts nothing appears to happen concerning the burner.  The igniter doesn't glow and the coils make no noise.  I removed and examined the flame sensor and it looked okay.

I'm clueless as to which component may be failing and I'm not sure which component to suspect first.

Thoughts?

I'm supposing so.  When I pulled the power connector off and attached the voltmeter it showed around 120v.

Could it be that simple?  So a healthy ignitor should glow when the dryer is running and calling for heat?

I'll prolly be ordering the part off the web, is/are there other common(s) item that could of failed that I should order just in case to possibly save time and shipping costs?

Always check voltage with devices connected....

Check the OHMs of the Ignitor..

Should be less than a few hundred OHMS..

Sometimes they crack and are "open"

Don't touch the Ignitor Element, skin oils can make them burn-out sooner

The Radient Sensor is a Thermal Switch ..

It should be closed untill hot.
