The washer won't spin in "Normal" wash cycle but will spin in "Permanent Press" and "Delicate" wash cycles.

The wiring diagram shows the washer spins in Hi motor in normal wash and Lo motor in the other wash cycles, and since the motor works in Hi because it does so in all of the other Hi motor functions then the problem is the switch and I need to order a new switch.

The Centrifugal Switch is part of the Motor and not available separately... For Low-speed, I think the Motor starts in Hi-speed and switches to Low but I think the problem is actually the Timer.. It sends the power to the Motor's high speed Terminals... I don't know if that Timer is "openable" to check/clean the Contacts ..

Once again you have come through. The new timer arrived today and was installed. The washer will now spin when in regular wash as well as in Permanent Press and Delicate. I sure would hate to replace this 15 year old washer. This is the first repair I have had to do on it. Last edited on Fri Aug 21st, 2009 10:07 pm by swglenn |
