Our maytag dryer will dry, but it doesn't come to the end of the cycle. It will run for 3-4 hours before it stops. I have checked the vent and it is clean. I put in a new vent to make sure it was well vented. Any suggestions?

Is that in the Regular Cycle or the Auto Dry Cycle ? I can't ffind a wiring diagram for that model, yet ..

It is the auto cycle. My wife tells me it does shut off on the manual cycle.

Yes. She mentioned that they were damp at first and it felt like lots of humidity in the dryer. But the clothes eventually dried. they are cool to touch.

... I don't know without looking at a wiring diagram .. If you could check the output Vent temperature .. Dryer Vent Vent should be rigid metal. Short lengths of flexible metal may be OK, if not crimped when moving the Dryer into place. NO plastic NO PVC NO screws Foil Duct Tape is OK. With an empty load, Timed Dry, High Heat, the vent temperature should cycle somewhere between 135F and 160F If you have a Harbor Freight Store near you, click on picture $ 2.99  I got to get to sleep ....

I apology for not getting back. It appeared the dryer was working in timed mode and I've been distracted with other stuff. If possible, I need to look into this again. When we talked last I thought that the dryer was drying in timed mode. I found out this evening it is not. clothes are coming out of the dryer at room temp. Would this be best to revisit Monday late afternoon / evening? Gary
