I am going to guess that the Water inlet valve needs to be replaced but I want to make sure. Here is the situation: You run a load of laundry... run cycle normally, drains all is well. Move clothing to dryer... life goes on. On some days you will notice that there is a couple inchs of water in the bottom of the Washer drum which wasn't there before. It's clean (non-soapy) water. I am going to guess that one of the solenoids in the "water inlet value" is slowly failing or is gunked up and isn't closing all the way. It never fills very much and it's a random occurance but it's becoming more regular these days. If this is the issue can you please post the location of how to access the pump. Thanks for the advice. The repair went smoothly. Hopefully I don't see any water filling the basin for some time. There was a little bit of gunk on the cold water filter. For those doing this repair it's really easy. You can access the pump from the top of the Unit. The steps were really simple: (total repair time was under 30 minutes. Including looking for any tools you need )

Thanks for fixing the issue. I'm sorry I called it a pump, I was being lazy and didn't scroll up to see the actual name. It's clearly two solenoids and not a pump. Last edited on Fri Jul 24th, 2009 09:47 pm by hlclark78 |
