This machine when agitating makes a gawd-awful screeching noise, similar to the screech when over torquing a nut on a bolt, but louder.

I took the belt off and everything turns freely by hand, but makes the noise at the point where the brake releases.

After researching and looking thru archives, I've narrowed it down to the brake rotor. But I'm looking for additional input from the pros.

I have the bearing/brake release tool, and the spring release tool as well.

Thanks,
Tree

May just need to the clean the brake rotor or may need to adjust the brake disengagement. Here's the service manual:

Yews wuz right..

The brake stator had some crud inside it, and the rotor was dirty/worn. I put on a new rotor and cleaned the stator. The brake engagement was okay. No more screeching.

Thnx,
Tree
