I am also seeing the rest of that same pen down in the trap/filter before the water pump or the hose to the pump, perhaps checking that filter/trap before the rest of this pen gets into the water pump breaking off the plastic impeller might be worth your time?  Not saying anything is there, but what if it is.....:?

I had a nice newer front load Frigidaire unit that got a quarter size hole in the drum because my tenants left nail clippers and a necklace in their pockets. It was caught and kept spinning finally making a hole in the drum.

It obviously is a design flaw. Large objects should not be allowed to get caught under there like that. People are gonna leave stuff in their pockets and might miss a pocket. It happens.

Its a retarded design and I hope they get class actioned for it.
