Have read other posts/FAQs and wish this was a problem with the lid switch. But when I lift the lid, I hear the switch click and the timer stops, so I guess the switch is OK. Have read all Kenmore no drain/spin suggestions but nothing matches my symptoms.
The problem is the cycle completes all the way to the end, but there is still water in the tub.
I have done due diligence and read the troubleshooting section of the manual so as not to wasteth your time. It says "Correct operation of neutral drain: ... the washer will drain without spinning. After draining, the spinning begins"
I get no draining, no pump sound, no motion for 2 -3 minutes after wash/rinse while it should be draining. Then "sometimes" it will spin and gets most of the water out, but not all. I can't find a good pattern for the "sometimes". My wife can sometimes move it to another spin cycle to get it to spin dry. But the main problem seems to be the lack of draining.
Agitation is OK, no weird sounds, no rubber smell.

Did you check Washer Motor Drive Coupling if they are ok, these parts between motor and drain pump.

| How can I check the coupling? It agitates fine. No weird noise, or smell. No black rubber powder under the machine.

I seriously doubt you have a coupler problem.
If you advance the timer a notch or two while the washer is in that limbo state, does the machine start running?

| No, advancing the timer doesn't help.

Till your washer backward and look under the machine.First you see drain pump that attach to the motor, washing machine coupling coupler (part#285753)is between motor and transmissions ( check if they are broken or worn out).

| Well, here's what I've done... tilted back machine, removed hoses from pump, didnt see any blockage or socks stuck in there, put my finger in the pump and can turn the gears both direction. This rotates the motor shaft and coupling ok in both directions. I don't see any problem.

I'm not a Mechanical Master, but the only thing I can see (electrical) in common is one contact in the Timer,
CAM 9, Switch 5A HIGH MOTOR Blue/Orange and Blue.
Check to see if the Blue Wire on the Motor has 120v AC when it's supposed to Drain

sounds like an electrical problem such as the timer or bad connection somewhere

| Thanks everyone, I'll try that. Any chance it is the "main drive motor switch"?Someone mentioned that as their solution at another site.

Ordered a new timer, it showed up yesterday, installed today in 30 min. Immediately works perfectly. Thanks again. You're all amazing. Maybe this internet thing has a future.
