The screaming got so bad that we called the technician who said drum rollers are shot and need replacing. There looked to be shards of black material underneath where the rollers are located..... Repair bill was one beer token too many - so......... We are going to attempt this repair ourselves!! This is the part we are going to try and install: http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=3044&PPStack=1 Could you please advise: 1. Is this the correct repair kit for the PYE3200AYW? 2. Will I need any specialised tools or other equipment to do this? (I think some other similar parts require that you have special pliers to remove the clips?) 3.Do the rollers just push on over the shafts? 4. Are the old shafts hard to remove? 5. I was going to replace the belt at the same time. Anything else you recommend I change or service whilst in the dryers innards? Should I oil anything? 6. Is it normal to see black shards of material underneath the rollers when they fail? 7. Any other advice you could give gleatly appreciated, thrank you Great site!!! Thank you!! Beer is indeed a universal currency

1. Is this the correct repair kit for the PYE3200AYW? Sure is. 2. Will I need any specialised tools or other equipment to do this? (I think some other similar parts require that you have special pliers to remove the clips?) Snap ring pliers ease the task, but you can do it with a small screwdriver or two. 3.Do the rollers just push on over the shafts? Yes 4. Are the old shafts hard to remove? Should not be. 5. I was going to replace the belt at the same time. Anything else you recommend I change or service whilst in the dryers innards? Should I oil anything? Vacuum out all the lint and dust, make sure your venting is rigid aluminum, not flexible foil or vinyl. Inspect your idler pulley for wear. 6. Is it normal to see black shards of material underneath the rollers when they fail? Yep! 7. Any other advice you could give gleatly appreciated, thrank you Link to the service manual for this unit is below. It is not an exact match by model, but the tear-down and mechanical references should just about be the same. http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16007668.pdf
