I have Kenmore 80 series, model 110.26812690. It is overflowing when I activate the washer i.e. pull out the timer. It does not stop filling or advance to the next stage during any fill or rinse portion. When the spin cycle is activated, it will completely drain, spin, and stop. I don't believe that I have a timer issue. I'm not sure if the Level Control switch is broken - it clicks when I change it (as normal), ETC inline sensor issue, or ETC controller (which I can't seem to locate). Also, I'm not sure how to take the Level Control switch off the machine. For giggles, I decided to test the continuity of the ETC inline sensor. It did not have any continuity when filled with water or empty. I have no clue if that would help. I wanted to play with my multi-meter.

When it keeps filling unplug the washer, if it keeps filling you have a water/fill valve that is stuck open....if it does stop filling you could have a water level switch that has gone bad or the hose that attaches to the switch and the bubble on the side of the tub has come loose or a mouse took a bite out of it for lunch...

It may be this part but look at the hose attached and follow it down to the tub to make sure it is sealed ,if that rubber hose fell off then the air pressure associated with the switch will be null,,resulting in water over flow. to get to this part you must rflip up the control panel Attachment: hose tot ub.jpg (Downloaded 51 times)

if that rubber hose fell off then the air pressure associated with the switch will be null,,resulting in water over flow. This is exactly what it was. My hose had somehow become disconnected to the Water Level switch. I realized this after reading the post from Pegi and applianceman. Thank you both so much! My wife is back in business. I guess we'll wait on new front-loaders for a little while longer.

I have noticed on some of these machines that have a hose pop off, that at the end of a spin cycle the tub jerks pretty violently when the rake engages to stop the tub. Might not be the case here but might want to listen and or watch to see.

Yes, most do stop to quickly, So put a dab of silicone or grease on the brake and it works like a charm. That is your government getting involved in your life again trying to make the basket stop to quickly.

It was told to me that back in the day many folks had their arms ripped out the socket from grabbing clothes out the washer while it was spinning. TY Ralph Nader
