Hi Willie, I've been reading your posts because I've encountered similar problems with my 2001 Frigidaire model GLHS267ZAW0. All of the food and beverages in my refrigerator are frozen. I turned the control knob to the lowest number (where it says warm), but everything is still frozen. How much should the repair cost (including the control box kit and labor)? Do you service the San Diego area? Thanks! -Miriam

Sorry Miriam, but to get me down that far would cost you a very large service call, (I'm in Eureka about 100 miles from the Oregon border). As far as service rates in San Diego area I have no idea but would guess that they are quite higher then up here in the North. You're probably looking at around $60 just to get the tech to your door and tell you whats wrong and give you an estimate. The part depending on the company you can see at RepairClinc is around $105 so figure a service company in San Diego at least that amount possibly as high as $170 then around an hour of labor at whatever the labor rates are down there.

Miriam wrote:I appreciate your help and will let my friends up in North CA know about your services in case they need assistance. Miriam, If your friends are truely in Northern California, (My area - Scotia to the South and Trinadad to the North, the reason I say "truely Northern California" is most people call even down as far as San Francisco Northern California and that's like over 300miles from me.), and you tell them to look me up for appliance repair they most likely won't be able to find me. I do no advertising and I'm not in the phone book except under my personal white page name listing (Willie Burk). All my work is done by word-of-mouth referrals. Way to go Willie! That's where you wanna be because you know that most of the people you'll be working for will be decent folks and you largely eliminate cheesedorks from your diet.

Frigidaire FRS6B7EESB: Last week we get a call about a grinding noise coming from the area around the damper control - a grinding sound similar to that of an icemaker that won't eject. I had a 241600902 on board but it did exactly the same thing when installed. That alone has to be one in a million but what makes this problem really defy chance is the customer said someone replaced the air damper contol motor assy about a year ago and it was fine till now. I had 120v at the motor plug and the cam wasn't turning. This should be easy? One more control assy later everything's fine. It ran perfectly, cycled and shut off in the open position. But of course that's not the end of the story. About three hours later we get another call. It's making that grinding noise again.
