- Bottom freezer well above zero degrees and front frame warm to the touch. Opened up back and found some dust (cleaned it), and observed that the condenser fan was spinning slowly; too slowly to effectively cool the engine.
- Purchased and replaced the Condenser Fan Motor (WR84X10055, $154.00) but the fan speed did not change.
- Called GE Service and they found the same result with the fan motor and then replaced the Main Board Asm (WR55X10552). Old Main Board was WR55X10416 (GEA Part # 200D5837G004). Problem solved. 5 yr warranty on the new part. (remember that)

- Bottom freezer well above zero degrees (13) and front frame warm to the touch. Opened up back and found some dust (cleaned it), and observed that the condenser fan was spinning slowly; too slowly to effectively cool the engine. Sound familiar?
- Plugged in the (now spare) condenser fan and the spindle speed is still way too slow to do any good.
- Intending to call GE Service again and ask them to replace the main board based on the 5 yr part warranty. Right move?
NOTE: In the interim, I am cooling the condenser coils with a salvaged bathroom exhaust fan blowing directly at the coils. Freezer already down 4 degrees in ~40 minutes.

Our fridge is tucked into a 'surround' that is built in with our cabinets. That is, there is wood next to the sides and top of the fridge, with little clearance on the sides, and maybe 2-3 inches on the top.
Couple questions:
Q1. Is this a recurring issue with this fridge / main board? If so, is there any method to guard against it?
Q2. Should I drill a couple big round holes through the floor (ranch basement below) to allow the fridge to suck up cooler basement air instead of floor air from the kitchen? If so, where should I place the holes with respect to the footprint of the fridge? Condenser fan is rear, left, when facing the wall; rear right when facing the back of the fridge.
