Hi All:

I have a GE GSS25LGMAWW refrigerator that has decided to quit dispensing water or ice.  Here's what I have tried so far after searching the site:

1) Tried a new filter- no dice

2) Tried disconnecting the water line under the front kick panel and activating the dispenser.  Got a few drops of water- that was it.

3) Tried soaking the water tank behind the crispers in hot water, and tried blowing on it for over 10 minutes with a hair dryer.  Also tried #1 again after this with no luck even still.

4) Opened the back panel of the refrigerator to get to the solenoid valves that look like the one in this picture:

I tried systematically removing each tube and trying the dispenser.  I didn't get anything out of the valves except for the orange collared one- when I hit the dispenser water GUSHES out of it.

I really don't want to pay someone else to simply replace the entire valve if it's the problem, but at the same time I am at my wits end troubleshooting this thing.  Any advice out there?

I usally use dispencer plug at vavle to power up valve  for ice maker aswell . just to confirm they both work . if so rehook everything and go back to front. check hose at front connection if no water there back track . you already confirmed the vavles work so continue to seek out where water stops traveling and give us more details
