Serial number: RL4810941 Timer and electronic control board is flaky. I'll be baking something and come back to a slightly warm oven, display will read PF when there was no power failure. I plugged the stove into a battery backup unit intended for computers and it still does the same thing. I plugged an alarm clock into the same outlet and removed it's battery so that if there was a power problem, it'd flash 12:00. It kept good time. I'm trying to see who else I can rob parts from in case I find a scrapped stove somewhere.

look for loose connections on/at the board and power cord......Hot or neutral connections...The board lost power, not necessarily power TO the range at the outlet............

^ I examined the board under a magnifier for cold solder joints. Could not find any. (Day job is a Radio Communications technician for the Washington D.C. Subway transit system.) It's fairly random, but happens more often when using the oven. I suppose I could go through and target components with a heat gun or freeze spray to see if temperature affects anything. Currently, I have a jumper across the gas lockout solenoid for the cooktops only as if the stove wasn't equipped with that feature so that I can use the cooktops and they won't go out randomly. I just use a different oven or constantly check up on this one. Last edited on Mon Nov 16th, 2009 02:47 pm by Pele |
