I have the usual problem of long run time and undried dishes. Previously ( 2 yrs ago) repaired the solder joint on the board. I checked the current with amprobe and it is 2 amps or so, which verifies a problem with the heater. How can I check further before replacing the control board or disassembling the washer to get at the heater? Can the heater and associated switches be tested from the front? What are the chances that the heater and/or thermostat switch is bad? I am electrically savvy but don't relish taking the beast apart unless absolutely unavoidable. Oh wise and fearless one - what to do?

Did you check the solder joints again ? Do you have / need the Service Manual ?

Yes, the solder connection was the first place I looked. Would the service manual address my questions on how to isolate the problem? The test procedures are readily available but no instructions on how/where to measure the resistance of the heater element and other devices. I see that others have replaced the control board and not cure the problem so I would like to be more sure before going there.
