I have a Whirlpool EL7ATRRKS01 Refrigerator. It is a stand-alone model - i.e. just a fridge, no freezer attached. For a few weeks, there was water accumulating in the fridge. I turned off the unit and removed the back plate. Turned out that the tube which runs between the inside of the fridge and the defrost pan was clogged, so water coming off the coils could not get to the pan and spilled into the fridge. The tube had a bunch of brown 'gunk' in it, which was the source of the clog not any one piece of food or other obstruction. I unplugged the tube and the water problem went away. However, the coils had ice on them (see photo). Have a few questions: 1. Anything I can do to keep the gunk from accumulating in the tube? 2. What should I do about the ice on the coils, both this time and also to prevent ice from forming in the future (if anything)? I live in Miami and it's summer, which means it's extremely humid. Thanks. ![]()

Thanks. Not sure what the George Washington treatment is? Also, should I use the hair dryer first or just try the defrost mode first and see if that does it?

Try the Defrost Timer first, if that works, you can let it continue (usually runs up to 25 minutes) If it doesn't work, or doesn't fully defrost, you can get the hair dryer.. Us a $1 bill and close the Door on it and slide it around the Gasket to see if it's snug.
