During the last month the freezer side of the refrigerator has stopped working twice.  A simple turn of the freezer control switch to off and then back to a setting, I have it at #5(recommended), will start it back up.  Any suggestions on a real fix or whats causing the freezer to shut off???

I posted this by accident a few days ago on the Laundry board.  Nobody's perfect.  I did have a response and RegUS_PatOff suggested to tap the cold control.

Now the fridge seems to be stopping more frequently and if I tap the cold control it will cycle on.  Thanks RegUS_PatOff!  What part should I clean or replace?  I am going to pull it apart to work on it.  Thanks.

I've pulled the area apart where I need to replace this part and saw that the wire coil from this part goes into the freezer area.  I did not pull apart the freezer area, but could see a wire coil coming from the refrigerator side.  It was enclosed in a clear plastic tube.  Is this the same coil?  It looked like a larger diameter.  Do I need to pull the freezer area apart when I replace this part?  Or can I "feed" the wire coil through?  Thanks for the help so far!

O.K.  I replaced the part and all is working.  It was a little more complicated than I would have liked but seems to be working well.  Thank you Reg US Pat off!  You da man!!
