my refrigerator is warming up and  the condensor fan is running constantly, i can hear the clicking of the compressor relay. I hear a clicking and then if i put my hand onthe compressor it gets very hot and after about 20 secs i hear another click and it begins to cool. the compressor never starts and the lines to the condensor never warm up.  i read in the faqs that it may be the start relay. if the start relay was bad would the compressor get hot or does that mean the compressor is bad?

The Start Relay fisrt connects the Start Windings of the Compressor, after a certain time, it disconnects, and then connects the Run Windings.

The one above was replace with the other one pictured in this thread by RegUS_PatOff . The replacement is more durable and comes with instructions.
