Dear Master, I'm having a problem with a wrench getting thrown at me in the last rinse cycle of a DS603 (same brains as a DD603 I imagine). Could I get a copy of the service manual? Thanks a million brewski's... Last edited on Sun Jan 18th, 2009 02:41 pm by Phreddy |

I also am in need of the DD603 manuals (I am in Australia if that matters). E-mail address is I had a few little ants crawl over the controller (525) for the top draw. This blew the big capacitor, one of the transistors is fried, etc (and the ants were cooked). All in all the controller is well and truly dead. So I ordered a new one through F&P Australia. This was easy and it turned up on time. When I put it in the draw was still dead, no power etc. The new one works in the bottom draw no worries, neither of the good ones work in the top (I should have checked the bottom one in the top ...) Any advice would be much appreciated. If I get the manuals and work it out I will post my solution. Last edited on Fri Feb 6th, 2009 08:23 am by Alistair |

Thanks to your help the dishwasher is fixed. The problem was the power supply to the controller. Power to the controller depends on the heating element. This element has a short length of solder (about 15 mm) that acts as a thermal fuse. It is soldered to the heating element tracks. Mine had blown (melted). There was a dob of melted solder just below the element. I guess I could have replaced the heating element. However, I could not be bothered waiting for it to turn up so I decided to try putting another bit of solder on. I used 60/40 tin/lead 0.8mm resin core solder. It was a bitch getting it to stick to the heating element track. Eventually I kind of succeeded by melting out the resin, then applying a dob of melted solder to each side, followed by attaching a join to each side. After I put it all back together it did not work first time, but at least I had power to the controller. I put the controller into diagnostic mode. After I exited everything sort of worked. I suspect that my solder join on the heating element is a bit flaky and I am not quite getting the right voltage to the controller. Going into the temp/voltage display mode (start a cycle, keylock for 4 seconds, then start/pause for 8 seconds) I get a voltage of around 60, but it fluctuates quite a bit. Any idea what it is meant to be?

Hi, I noticed you seem to have a few Fisher and Paykel dishwasher manuals there. Any chance you might have one for the very common old FP913T that you could email to me please? Thanks, Eric.

If you could email it that would be fantastic!! My email is ericoppelAToptushome.com.au Any idea whether it's necessary to use a silicon sealant when replacing the door seal on these things? I have another post asking about it but have no replies as yet. F&P used some around the top of the seal but I don't know what type to use? This is the first time I've attempted a dishwasher repair so I'm a bit lost and want to get it going again ASAP. I hate doing dishes!!!!

Hi Reg, I see you're online, I sent you a PM for this manual. Just posting here also in hopes you see it soon. Thanks, Edit: I found a link to the manual in another discussion so you don't need to send it to me. Thanks Here's the discussion with the link to the manual: http://applianceguru.com/forum1/12241.html And a direct link if anyone else wants it: http://www.mediafire.com/?7eonemsxyyd Last edited on Fri Feb 20th, 2009 01:39 pm by Budget Appliance Repair ____________________ William Burk (Willie) Willie's Budget Appliance Repair Eureka, CA 95501 |
