Have a Frigidaire FRS26ZPH fridge and the ice dispenser "trap door" sticks. So basically the ice stacks up behind it makes a big pile but it doesn't have enough weight to open the "trap door". I can push it open with my finger just fine and it doesnt feel like its binding or broken. Any ideas on what to replace. I am assuming there is a spring in there or maybe some bushings that are offering some resistance.

Thanks alot

I got the model number right. Frigidaire uses a letter and number identifier at the end to identify color and maybe features but on the fridge it is just FRS26ZPH. On thier website they have manuals for several different ones such as FRS26ZPHW3 and FRS26ZPHB2 but on the fridge itself it doesnt have those last two characters. Also all the manuals are the same for the variations. But if it helps, it's white with the digital buttons on the dispenser. :help:

Thanks alot

Ok, if you're not worried about it, neither am I. I am but a pez dispenser of information. :grunt:

Here's the breakdown diagram of your dispenser.

Start right at item 35, the heat motor. If it's getting 120vac but not extending, then you need to replace it.

OHHHHHhhhhhh... So that little motor is actually supposed to open the "trap door". I thought the weight of incoming ice pushed it open. Sounds like thats exactly what is wrong with it. I will try to get in their and check it out.

Thanks alot
